Geoffrey Mutai Breaks Marathon World Record 2:03:02

The New York marathon Geoffrey Mutai has breaking world record. Kenya 30 years, ran 2:03:02, beating the previous record of 2 minutes and 37 seconds. Mutai won the Boston Marathon earlier this year and set the record for this race too. If you read this, Geoffrey, congratulations! If you are not Geoffrey Mutai, return to work, the provision failed.

In April, the fastest race in history 26.2 miles: 2:03:02 in Boston. Does not count as a world record because the course is considered too direct and too low.

The finalists of the second and third Sunday also broke the old record. Emmanuel Mutai of Kenya colleagues (no relation), the London Marathon champion, was 1:22 behind. Tsegaye Kebede of Ethiopia was third.
